About Us
Who We Are
Here’s the deal, at Living Faith we care about one thing above all else – Jesus Christ. We’re a family of imperfect people who have put our trust and hope in Jesus. And we just want to share that hope with as many people as possible so others can experience the same freedom we’ve found!
We definitely don’t do it perfectly, but we strive to live for Christ in all things. Whether we’re worshipping together on Sunday morning, serving our community on Saturday afternoon, or going about our daily lives throughout the week – we want to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and our words and actions reflecting the love of Christ.

How We Started
Living Faith started out as a church plant called Williamsville Baptist Mission in 1989 and met in the elementary school. Later it was moved to the Sherman Elementary School and called the Living Faith Baptist Chapel. Mark Emerson was called as our first pastor on August 25, 1991 and our meeting space moved to the Sheriff’s Association Building (which is now Staub’s) about a six months later.
Living Faith was constituted as a church on October 3, 1993 with 82 original members. In March of 1995, after the congregation had grown to more than 100 members, Living Faith moved to our current building (which was unfinished and only had 3/4 of a ceiling in the sanctuary at the time!) We’ve been ministering to and serving Sherman and the surrounding areas ever since!
Where We’re Headed
Our mission and purpose is to help people discover a relationship with God, find their purpose, and make a difference in the world. This is at the core of everything we do.
